You will learn from experts within economic development, workforce development, and trade on the latest tools and support available for aerospace businesses in Pierce County, WA.

The webinar will highlight new and existing programs for businesses seeking to identify opportunities to impact their top-line revenue and grow. A variety of resources will be shared including the business retention and expansion program (BRE), grant dollars funded by the Economic Development Administration to help traded sector firms better compete with imports, and workforce solutions strategies.

  • Maddie Merton, VP, Business Retention and Expansion, Economic Development Board for Tacoma-Pierce County (EDB)

Maddie manages the EDB’s relationships with existing primary businesses, delivering solutions to help them grow and succeed. She meets with an annual portfolio of 200 companies ranging from small, mid-sized, and large across multiple industry sectors. Her work includes navigating federal, state and local incentives, accessing financing and grant programs, permitting and regulatory assistance, connections to workforce development resources, and management consulting.

  • Ken Wenninger, Director of Client Development, Northwest Trade Adjustment Assistance Center

Ken has over 40 years’ experience in marketing and international business development. His primary responsibilities with NWTAAC involve working with chambers of commerce, economic development and member organizations, (PNAA, CAMPS) government agencies (SBA, SBDC and ESD)  regarding a federal matching funds program for small and medium sized traded sector firms.

  • Teresa Delicino, Director of Business Solutions, WorkForce Central

Teresa oversees the implementation of business services for Pierce County’s Workforce Development Council.  She works collaboratively with local economic development and community partners to address business and industry sector issues related to workforce recruitment and retention, employee training and development, labor market and trend data, and layoff aversion strategies.
