EB-5 Regional Centers

The federal government created the EB-5 program in 1990 to encourage more foreign investments in the United States. Foreign nationals who invest a minimum of $1 million (or $500,000 in targeted employment areas) in a job-creating commercial enterprise can be eligible to receive a United State green card. Foreign nationals may also choose to invest through a third party Regional Center to manage their investment and job-creation requirements.

Northwest Trade Adjustment Assistance Center (NWTAAC)

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Northwest Trade Adjustment Assistance Center (NWTAAC) provides match-funding to help American companies compete with foreign imports. The NWTAAC can pay 75% of the cost of developing a new strategy (including identifying new markets, new products, new technologies; cutting costs; improving distribution; etc.). Eligible companies must demonstrate a decline in sales or production of a major product, a decline in employment, and some evidence that the declines are due to competition from imports.
