Industry Clusters

The Economic Development Board for Tacoma-Pierce County (EDB) identifies, targets, recruits and retains businesses in clusters where the region has a distinct competitive advantage.  As part of a regional economy in the Puget Sound area of Washington State, the EDB also works across jurisdictional boundaries with its colleagues in Seattle (King County), Everett (Snohomish County) and Bremerton (Kitsap County) on clusters that are job and wealth creators in the larger region.

Our target industry clusters are:

• logistics and international trade
• clean technology

 In addition, the EDB targets companies in the strategic categories of:

• regional headquarters
• military contractors
